The newly-appointed principal of City of Bristol College reacted to its poor Ofsted report by saying it is upsetting and a blow to morale, but that the college can do better for its students.
Lynn Merilion says it highlights the need for staff to concentrate on what happens in the classroom.
The college is the largest in the region, with 30 thousand students. It has received the lowest Ofsted rating of 'inadequate' in several areas, including quality of teaching.
