Campaigners fighting to save Birnbeck Pier in Weston-super-Mare have issued a fresh warning that it's in danger of collapse.

The Victorian structure has been derelict for 20 years and now the Heritage Minister has hinted it may be eligible for lottery money.

A developer who's buying the Grade Two listed pier is in talks with the council about plans for a hotel and apartments.

RNLI pull out of Birnbeck Pier

The RNLI are closing their base on Birnbeck Pier in Weston-super-Mare after 131 years based there. It blames the deteriorating condition of the crumbling facilities.
