Plans for more than 300 homes on a popular green space in Taunton have tonight been approved by councillors.
Taunton Deane Borough Council's planning committee voted 8 to 7 in favour of the Vivary Green Wedge development.
Hundreds of people turned out to protest against the scheme.

The Liberal Democrats won the constituency in 2010, by 1,817 votes. The Conservatives are targeting it for 2015.
Stroud is a Labour target for 2015. The Conservatives currently hold the seat, winning in 2010 with a majority of 1,299 votes.
North Swindon is a Labour target for 2015, but is considered a reasonably safe Conservative seat. They won in 2010 by just over 7,000 votes.
