MPs have begun debating the controversial cull of badgers in two parts of the West.
Labour, which claims that shooting badgers to control TB in cattle is ineffective, has put down a motion calling for it to be stopped.
The cull became legal in parts of Somerset and Gloucestershire at the weekend. However the Environment Select Committee says an alternative using vaccines is not yet available.

An online petition against the cull of badgers which was started by Queen guitarist Brian May has secured more than 250,000 signatures.
Two trials of badger culling can legally get underway on Saturday 1 June.
