Full report on the govt's A303 upgrade announcement

Today the government said it would look at ways of improving the A303, parts of which are single carriageway. However, Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander only announced a feasibility study - meaning any upgrade may still be some years off.

But a new £11 million bridge in Bristol is getting the go-ahead, as our political reporter Robert Murphy reports.

The Government has announced funding to look into widening the A303, which runs from Wiltshire to Cornwall but has a number of bottlenecks in its single carriageway stretches.
