New centre opens for land speed record attempt

The next step in developing a car that can break the land speed record took place in Bristol on Thursday.

The team behind 'The Bloodhound' unveiled their new technical centre as they continue working towards a car capable of reaching speeds of 1000 miles an hour.

Land speed record attempt

A consortium of West Country business and academics are hoping to break the land speed record. The Bloodhound Project has the backing of Rolls Royce and the University of the West of England, to name just two.
