Open verdict recorded in Cheltenham schoolboy inquest

An open verdict has been recorded at the inquest into the death of a successful teenage horse rider.

Tom Osbourne, the deputy Coroner at Gloucester Coroner's Court said he could not be sure that Jack Bowlby had intended to end his own life.

Earlier the inquest heard how the 16-year-old Cheltenham College student died shortly after he restarted taking a controversial acne medication.

Jack was the nephew of former champion racehorse trainer Jenny Pitman.
