Wiltshire Police has confirmed that the body of a man has been found in the River Ray at the rear of Moulden Hill Lake.
Formal identification has not yet been completed but the family of John Shailes who was reported as missing from Swindon have been informed of this development.
The 27-year-old from Swindon was out with friends and had been drinking at the Tawny Owl Pub,Taw Hill.
The group then went to Moulden Hill Lake and he was last seen in the area at approximately 8.00pm.
We are investigating the circumstances of the death and are still appealing for information from anyone who saw John yesterday evening.
