Thousands of postal workers in the West Country are voting on Friday whether to go on strike.

It is the first Royal Mail national strike ballot since 2009 and comes after a breakdown of talks in a dispute over privatisation, pay and pensions.

Unions say privatisation will wreck the postal service and threaten deliveries to rural areas.
