A woman from Bristol who trafficked people into the city from Lithuania and made them live in squalid conditions has been jailed for three years.

53 year old Jurate Grigelyte brought eleven people into the country, and forced them to work long hours before locking them into cramped flats.

The victims, who were made to deliver and collect charity bags for eleven hours a day, were aged between 18 to late sixties, and were kept in properties in Easton, Eastville and Brislington.

Grigelyte admitted 10 charges of facilitating entry into the UK with a view to exploiting labour, 10 charges of trafficking around the UK and one count of forced labour, and was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court earlier today.
