Animal rights charities launch challenge to badger culls

Animal rights charities claim the badger culls breach an international agreement on protecting wildlife Credit: PA

Three animal rights charities charities have today launched a challenge to the badger culls, saying they breach an international agreement on protecting wildlife.

The group argue that the culls, due to resume in parts of Somerset and Gloucestershire later this year, do not comply with the Berne Convention because they fail to take account of the impact on other species. The government disputes the claim.
