The Commonwealth Games draw to a close tonight, and it's been a successful 11 days for the West Country's athletes.

Former Bristol student Jo Pavey is the latest to win a medal in Glasgow. The 40-year-old won bronze after a battling display in the women's 5000m.

The Bristol and West Athletics Club Life Member was leading at the bell, but was overtaken by three Kenyans. However, Pavey found the strength to power past Margaret Muriuki and almost caught silver medallist Janet Kisa.

It's her first medal at the Games since taking silver in the same competition in Melbourne in 2006.
