Outdoor swimming to return to Bath

Britain's only surviving Georgian lido, Cleveland Pools, is on track to be restored thanks to a development grant of £366,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The Grade Two listed lido at Bathwick was closed in 1984.

Medallist Sharron Davies backs Bath lido plans

Olympic medallist Sharron Davies is backing plans to restore Britain's oldest surviving open air pool in Bath.

The Grade II listed Cleveland Pools has secured earmarked funding of £4.1 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

“This is such good news. After hard work and sheer perseverance by the Trust and its advisers it's looking like we will have a magnificent and unique pool in Bath that we can all enjoy for a proper outdoor swim.”
