Family pay tribute to M5 crash victim
The family of William Mapstone, the lorry driver killed in a crash on the M5 near Birmingham on Saturday, have paid tribute to him.
– THE FAMILY OF WILLIAM MAPSTONEOur dad was tragically taken away from us while doing the job he so very much loved. We would very much like to thank the people who helped both us and dad through such a tragic time including all the emergency services that attended the scene to help dad on the motorway to try and save him.
The 65 year old from Wells in Somerset was seriously injured in the crash on Saturday and died in hospital later that evening. Another man died and more than 20 people injured in the crash. The lorry was returning to Devon from Manchester when the crash happened.

Enquiries centre on the weather conditions at the time of the collision and how the bus came to be stationary in the carriageway. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the bus travelling along the M5 prior to the collision.
Police have said the driver of the bus that was involved in Saturday's crash remains on bail, after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
