Rip current rescue

**

**An RNLI lifeguard had to come to the rescue of a boy who'd got caught up in a rip current off Croyde in Devon.

The boy had been learning to surf at the holiday hotspot when he got in to trouble yesterday (Weds).

Lifeguard James Vallance surfed out to the boy and brought him to safety. A camera connected to the rescuers surfboard captured the moment.

RNLI lifeguards patrol Croyde Beach from Easter to October. They recommend that people always swim between the flags and to listen to the lifeguards' advice.
