Mark Boucher announced his retirement from international cricket today [Tuesday] after sustaining a severe eye injury during South Africa's tour match against Somerset yesterday.
35-year-old Boucher would have played in South Africa's test series against England this summer.

The South African wicket-keeper Mark Boucher had an emergency operation in Taunton last night [Monday] after a freak injury during the tourists' warm-up match against Somerset.
He suffered a lacertion to his eye when a bail flew up and hit him in the face as he crouched over the stumps.
In the match itself, Peter Trego Treego scored a century off just sixty balls - and James Hildreth also reached three figures as Somerset declared on 321 for eight against the tourists' much-vaunted pace attack.
The tourists lost two early wickets in reply.
