Big bird detained in Devon

A big bird had to be apprehended by police this morning after a member of the public spotted it in Barnstaple, in North Devon.
The flightless bird was walking along St Georges Road, near to Pilton.
Acting Sergeant Zoe Parnell and Police Community Support Officer Stephen Huxtable found the 4ft tall emu in Riddell Avenue.
They managed to coax it into the rear of the police car and called the owner.
