No games for Yeovil Town and Torquay United this weekend because of the FA Cup, but Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle were both in action.

LEAGUE TWO

  • YORK CITY 1 - 2 EXETER CITY

Jimmy Keohane scored his first ever goal in professional football as Exeter City recorded their fifth straight away win.

The midfielder also had an assist for the first goal in the 14th minute. He skipped past two defenders before crossing for John O'Flynn - but Alex Rodman got their first to divert the ball past his own goalkeeper.

The lead was shortlived, however, as York levelled just five minutes later. Artur Krysiak could only parry a shot into the path of Michael Potts who had a simple chance to tap-in.

The Grecians scored their winner early in the second half. Kevin Amankwaah’s cross was just too high for O'Flynn, but Keohane was alert at the back post to fire home.

York increased the tempo as they searched for a second equaliser, but Exeter held on, and the three points moves them up to fifth in the table.

Managerless Plymouth Argyle suffered a heavy defeat at high-flying Port Vale, and also had Nick Chadwick sent off.

Jennison Myrie-Williams put the home side ahead from the edge of the area just after the half-hour mark. Moments later Argyle were reduced to ten men after Chadwick clashed with Ashley Vincent.

Vale made the extra man count in the second half with three more goals. The League's top scorer, Tom Pope, doubled the advantage with a header in the 55th minute.

Pope set up Ben Williamson for the third, before grabbing his 25th goal of the season seven minutes from time.

Defeat moves Argyle into the relegation zone for the first time this season.
