Torquay United Football Club have announced that Thea Bristow will take over as chairwoman with immediate effect.
She succeeds Simon Baker, who is stepping down to become vice-chairman at Plainmoor, alongside directors Bill Phillips and Alex Rowe.
The restructuring is completed by general manager Andrew Candy assuming the role of chief executive and Thea’s son Alan joining the board of directors.
Thea came to prominence at Plainmoor when her late lottery-winning husband Paul joined a consortium to buy the club in 2007.
The Gulls are fighting for their Football League survival. With three games remaining, they are currently third from bottom in League Two, only outside the drop zone on goal difference.
