- MORECAMBE 0 - 2 TORQUAY UNITED
Torquay United picked up a vital three points in their battle to avoid relegation to the Conference.
The Gulls were helped by the early dismissal of debutant Chris Doyle. The teenager was shown a straight red card in the 23rd minute for hauling down Elliot Benyon.
The opening goal arrived five minutes later. Rene Howe put Stewart Drummond under pressure, and the Morecambe defender saw his backpass go under goalkeeper Barry Roche's foot and into the net.
Substitute Ashley Yeoman made the game safe twenty minutes from time after a strong run down the left wing.
The win moves Alan Knill's men above Plymouth Argyle in the table on goal difference. A point at home to Bristol Rovers next Saturday should be enough to avoid the drop.
- PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 0 - 1 ROTHERHAM UNITED
Plymouth Argyle are only two points from safety after losing to promotion-chasing Rotherham at Home Park.
The Pilgrims need a point from next weekend's trip to Rochdale to be absolutely sure of avoiding the drop into the Conference for the first time in their 126 year history.
The only goal of the game was scored 14 minutes from time by former Yeovil Town striker Kieran Agard.
Argyle were then camped in Rotherham's half as they desperately searched for an equaliser.
Conor Hourihane fired over, Onismor Bhasera saw his shot blocked and Nick Chadwick’s header was plucked out the air by Millers' goalkeeper Scott Shearer.
But the visitors held on, and the three points keeps them in the final automatic promotion place.
- EXETER CITY 0 - 1 CHELTENHAM TOWN
Exeter City's play-off dreams are over after their tenth home defeat of the season against promotion rivals Cheltenham.
Russell Penn scored the only goal of the game in the fifth minute, firing home from the edge of the area.
The Grecians had several chances to equalise. Jamie Cureton and Jamie Reid both came close, and sub Jimmy Keohane saw his effort well saved by Scott Brown.
Exeter drop to ninth in the table, four points from the play-off places.
- YEOVIL TOWN 1 - 0 CREWE ALEXANDRA
Joe Edwards scored the only goal after just 48 seconds to beat Crewe at Huish Park.
James Hayter chested the ball down to the midfielder, who burst through to fire past former Bristol City and Bristol Rovers goalkeeper Steve Phillips.
Marek Stech kept the Glovers in the game with a string of fine saves. Kelvin Mellor, Max Clayton, Matt Tootle and Chuks Aneke were all denied by Yeovil's number one.
Luke Ayling almost doubled Town's lead, but saw his bullet header cleared off the line by Tottle.
