Alex's weather blog: Snow on Dartmoor

The sight of snow gave some early morning commuters a shock this morning on Dartmoor. Over the high ground some of the white stuff settled, but thankfully for motorists it didn't cause any disruption.

Over the last few days all our weather has been coming in from the east and northeast. The airmass has been colder, heightening the chance of wintry weather, especially on the tops of the hills.

The lying snow won't be around for long. Temperatures are set to rise over the next few days, peaking over this weekend at 16c. It's good news for Mother's Day and a stroll outside: showers have been forecast, but are not expected until the end of the day.

It looks like the milder weather will last into the beginning of next week whilst the wind flows in from the southeast - pulling in warmer air from southern parts of Europe.

Don't forget the clocks go forward this Sunday. I for one am looking forward to lighter and brighter evenings. For more updates follow me @alexberesfordTV.
