There are warnings we could be in for one of the busiest bank holiday weekends on the region's roads for years. Schools broke up today for half term and the police are warning that tomorrow could be particularly busy around Exeter, as the Devon County Show continues.
A special police operation will roll into action this weekend to try to keep the traffic moving and delays to a minimum. Officers will be diverted from other duties to make sure things run as smoothly as possible.
As well as the Devon County Show, there's Run to the Sun in Newquay, Volksfest in Plymouth and the Forces March in Ilfracombe this weekend. That means there are going to be pinch points along the main routes in and out of the west country. The police say people should plan for their journeys to be longer than usual.
They've been planning the traffic management at the Devon County Show since last August. Over the course of the weekend 95,000 people will visit. Those coming from the south will have a new route into the showground this year coming in off junction 29. There will be delays no doubt - all the advice is to be prepared.
