20ft long basking shark spotted in Tor Bay

A boat passenger has taken these rare close-up photos of a basking shark swimming in Tor Bay.

The pictures show the fins of the shark, which is thought to be between 20 and 25 feet long.

The photo was taken by a passenger on board the Dart Princess, on one of Paignton Pleasure Cruise's wildlife tours.

This is not terrifying! Basking shasks are not meat eaters. To see one this big and this close is really unique. I hope people will take a bit more care on speedboats and jet skis in the bay as these sharks are really special.
