Newquay Zoo have a pair of new arrivals!

The Brazilian Tanager chicks were born in April, it's the first time the species have been hatched at the zoo.

In the wild the Tanagers live in coastal lowland forests and tropical shrubland in Brazil but can sometimes be found on the outskirts of cities, including Rio de Janero.

These chicks were hatched at the beginning of April and they have been fed every couple of hours by myself and the team ever since. The adult pair are already sitting on another clutch which should hatch within the next week.
