Watch: Deer stuck in well saved by resourceful fire crews on New Year's Eve

Footage of the rescue of two deer who fell into a well on New Year's Day has been released online.

The deer were stuck 7 feet down and in two feet of water in a well in Torr near Yealmpton.

Fire crews called to assist with the rescue were able to help free the deer using animal rescue equipment and a pully system.

The deer were initially sedated by a vet before the rescue could be started by fire crews.

The footage shows one of the trapped deer bounding away after being salvaged from the well.

Both deer were successfully rescued by the crews on scene.
