Wintry weather affects travel in the West Country

Blizzards and icy weather mean there are hazardous driving conditions in parts of the South West. Snow has settled in places like Exmoor and Dartmoor.

LATEST TRAVEL PROBLEMS DUE TO ICE AND SNOW

  • M4 - WILTSHIRE - One lane blocked both ways due to snow between J15 (Swindon East) and J17 (Chippenham).
  • A38 - DOBWALLS - CORNWALL - snow around Twelvewoods Roundabout
  • A382 - BOVEY TRACEY - DEVON - snow between Southbrook Lane (Bovey Tracey) and A30 (Whiddon Down)
  • B3212 - TWO BRIDGES - DEVON - snow between B3357 (Two Bridges) and Pound Street (Moretonhampstead)
  • B3357 - TAVISTOCK - DEVON - snow on B3357 between Green Hill (Tavistock) and B3212 (Two Bridges)

The Met Office has issued yellow warnings of ice and snow with showers of snow, sleet and hail expected through the morning at least. Ice is likely to affect untreated areas and the combination of snow and ice could disrupt travel.
