Thousands of new seats will be made available for Plymouth Argyle's historic FA Cup replay with Liverpool on Wednesday after an unprecedented demand for tickets.

Scores of fans have been eagerly anticipating the third-round replay with Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League giants. Now, Argyle have announced it's to re-introduce temporary seating in the Mayflower for the first time since 2010.

The extra seating will raise Home Park’s capacity for the eagerly-anticipated clash by more than 1,800.

tickets have been allocated for Wednesday's match

This is great news for the Green Army.

Argyle’s management team and staff have been working extraordinarily long hours to issue around 13,500 tickets – our full allocation – over the last few days. This task has been made more challenging by the wish to make the allocation as fair as possible.

At the same time, the management team has been working on a complex plan to add additional seating to ensure that as many members of the Green Army as possible can see the once-in-a-generation match.

The club says they are absorbing the cost of the seating and will be taking a loss on those additional seats. Argyle say the installation is not about making money, but making the game available to as many fans as possible.
