Pewsey Fire Station issued an apology on Facebook for sharing their pork-eating antics on the social media website.

The Wiltshire firefighters shared a tale of how after rescuing piglets from a barn fire, they were offered sausages made from the same animals.

The crew held a barbeque where they ate the sausages, six months after saving them as piglets.

Rachel Rivers said she wanted to thank the crew after they tackled the fire on her farm in Milton Lilbourne. The story did not go down well with their Facebook followers, with one user commenting they were "repulsed".
