Police are concerned for the welfare of a boy who may be lost around Easton in Bristol.

He had approached a member of the public at approximately 7.30pm on Monday, 4th September, saying he was lost, but got scared and ran away when they called the police.

He also mentioned his name was Rana and that he was visiting his aunt in Bristol from Birmingham.

Rana is described as Asian, approximately 4 feet 11 inches tall, of slim build with short dark hair. He is thought to be around 11 or 12 years old.

Avon and Somerset Police say a relative is believed to have dropped him off earlier, near Beaumont Street in a red Mercedes-AMG.

The boy was wearing grey trainers, dark jeans and a grey t-shirt under a black-and-white-striped Everlast hooded jacket.

We have carried out a significant number of enquiries since we were called on Monday evening and we have no reason to believe the boy has come to any harm.

However, we need to establish who he is and make sure he is safe and well.
