Pictures show dog rescued from 20ft tree overhanging river

New pictures show the rescue of a dog which was trapped up a 20ft tree overhanging a river.

Tippet the dog got stuck up the tree in Newton Abbott after chasing a squirrel.

Newton Abbot Fire Station say they were called to Bradley Woods after reports a Patterdale Terrier was trapped up a tree.

“The dog had chased a squirrel around 20 feet up the tree which was angled out over the River Lemon.

“He got himself scared and couldn’t get back down.

Members of the crew used the experience as an opportunity to test out their equipment.

This incident actually provided some very beneficial training for us, utilising our working at height and water safety equipment in an unusual scenario.
