A family who spent a small fortune putting up Christmas lights outside their home have said they are devastated after vandals damaged the display.

The festive lights outside their home in Weston-super-Mare were raising money for charity.

I have put a lot of time and work into the display, and it was all destroyed in a matter of minutes. This is for charity which makes it even harder to deal with.

Because cables have been cut, the Powell family say that it will not be safe for them to put the light display back on.

The police have been contacted.
