The Court of the University of Bath has voted for the immediate departure of its Vice Chancellor after controversy over her high salary.
Dame Professor Glynis Breakwell previously said she would step down in the summer but for many that was not enough.
According to the university, the Court is "a statutory body with around 200 members that provides a forum representing the interests of some of the University’s internal and external constituencies".
Dame Professor Breakwell caused controversy last year when it emerged she earns nearly half a million pounds a year. It made her a focal point for discussion around whether Vice Chancellors around the country should be paid high salaries.
As the Court is an advisory board, doubt remains over whether she will leave straight away.
