The Bristol Bierkeller, one of the city's most popular music venues is closing today, Thursday 8 February.

Staff say the owners of the building in All Saints Street are redeveloping the site and have not included the Bierkeller in its plans.

This is a very sad time for all of us at the Bierkeller, there have been some historic gigs over the years including the first UK show for Nirvana, Royal Blood, Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys, Janes Addiction, Tool, PJ Harvey, Stone Roses, Cage the Elephant, Pixes, Ash, Fear Factory, Nile, Sleaford Mods…it goes on.. plus all the great theater, comedy and club nights….but that’s it…all done….

Most of the gigs organised are being moved to other venues in the city with all original tickets remaining valid.

The Bierkeller is going to produce a hall of fame poster and anyone who wants to contribute a memory is being asked to comment on its Facebook page.
