A group of students have been suspended from Exeter University following a "major investigation" into alleged racism.
Private messages allegedly sent in a WhatsApp group among members of a law society, have been posted online by a student who said he wanted to expose the racism he's experienced.
Police have been informed and investigations are now being carried out by the university and the students union.
Exeter University said it "does not tolerate any form of racist, sexist or bigoted behaviour and is committed to eradicating any instances of discrimination and harassment that may arise".
The university has also said full disciplinary action will be taken as appropriate.
The Bracton Law Society said it has "taken the decision to remove those involved form the committee and indefinitely ban all those involved from the society".
