Police are urging people to be vigilant after two boxes of Navy ammunition were found on East Cornwall beaches.
The boxes were discovered at different locations and are believed to have washed up on Porthbeor beach in Roseland and on Vault Beach in Gorran Havern.
Police say they dealt with the ammunition and are "liaising with the Royal Navy".
“We informed the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) who handled the ammunition, which is believed to be highly dangerous.
“If located, we would ask the public not to approach these boxes but to contact police right away.
“Anyone who sees anything similar washed up on a beach is asked to contact the police.”
