The owner of a cat injured after an apparent attack using battery acid in Exeter in Devon says she's heartbroken.

Georgie, the tabby cat, has been left with life-threatening injuries and a vet says it could now lose it's sight.

The 10-year-old returned home to her owners with 'no fur' and severe burns to her face and body.

Police are treating the incident as a deliberate attack. The cat remains at the vets where it is undergoing treatment.

Donations to help pay Georgie's vets bills are already flooding in to a GoFundMe page the family have set up.

They're now more hopeful of a positive outcome and are looking forward to bringing Georgie home.
