Scientists find 29 pesticides in single Devon river
Researchers have found 29 different pesticides in a single river in Devon.
New testing techniques have been developed by scientists at the Greenpeace laboratory, based at the University of Exeter.
They sampled water from the River Exe, Otter, Tale and Culm - where they found a total of thirty four pesticides - including weed killer and veterinary drugs.
Scientists warn there could be harmful effects for plants and wildlife.
