People in Beaminster had quite a shock early this morning when a stolen tractor was used to rip out a cash machine.

Several people called Dorset Police during 4am raid on the former HSBC on Fleet Street.

Thieves ran away from the scene before getting into a dark coloured Audi.

Police do not know yet if any money was taken.

Sorry, this content isn't available on your device.

Nobody is believed to be hurt but police say the furniture shop has been left with significant structural damage.

The road has been closed until a structural engineer can attend and advise on how to make the property safe.

I am also keen to hear from anyone who saw a Audi or similar looking car being driven in or around the area this morning or one that may have been abandoned. The offenders have caused significant structural damage to the property and the road has been closed to ensure the safety of members of the public until it can be made safe.
