Enquiries centre on the weather conditions at the time of the collision and how the bus came to be stationary in the carriageway. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the bus travelling along the M5 prior to the collision.

A lorry driver from the West Country who was seriously injured in a crash on the M5 near Birmingham has died in hospital, West Midlands Police said. Another man was killed and more than 20 people injured in the accident. The lorry was returning to Devon from Manchester when the accident happened.
Lorry driver is in a critical condition after a crash on the M5 which left one man dead. The Lorry was travelling from Manchester to Devon.
