Steve Hardy reports on an ambitious quest to harvest wave energy off the Cornish coast as the first test device is deployed off Falmouth Bay.
If it works it'll be the spring board for other devices to be placed in an offshore wave farm which'll provide electricity for thousands of homes.
The first marine energy device to be installed in Cornish water will be installed today. The device was built in Falmouth and is now being installed for testing before it is incorporated into the Hayle Wave Hub plans.
The first device to test if energy can be generated from the Wave Hub project has been deployed in Cornish waters. It's hoped the device and others like it can be connected to the hub to provide electricity for homes.
