A woman who stole almost 100 thousand pounds from a charity has been jailed for 14 months. Jennifer Colenso stole money from the North Devon Animal Charity. Police officers say it's the biggest theft from a charity they can remember. Richard Lawrence has this report.
69-year-old Jennifer Colenso admitted eight counts of fraud and one of theft whilst working as a volunteer treasurer for the animal charity, the North Devon Animal Ambulance.
She was jailed for 14 months by Judge Phillip Walsall at Exeter Crown Court.

This was a gross breach of trust not only put in you by the charity but also by those who donated to it in good faith".

We feel horrendously let down. We liked her enormously and gave her our trust and she breached it. Now we are having to work twice as hard to make up for the losses."
Jennifer Colenso stole money from the North Devon Animal Charity. She'd worked for them as a volunteer treasuer. She was sentenced to 14 months at Exeter Crown Court.
