A hawk is being used to scare away seagulls at Helston Community College
A hawk is being used to scare away problem seagulls at a Cornish school. Helston Community College has brought in a specialist hawk handler to fly the bird of prey in the school playground.
The hawk acts as a deterrent to seagulls which have been swooping at children and stealing food during their lunch breaks. Hawks have also been used to deter gulls in seaside towns like St Ives, and to keep them off the runways at RNAS Culdrose.
