by Bob CrwuysThere are calls for an investigation into claims that a former West country Conservative MP was also spying for the Communists during the Cold War. It's alleged that Ray Mawby, who was the Tory MP for Totnes until 1983, was also working for the Government in Czechoslovakia.
Mr Mawby, who died in 1990, served as a Junior Minister in the 1960s. He was apparently given the codename Laval by his handlers. Now a senior Conservative MP has demanded an investigation into the claims.

It's alleged a Conservative minister in the 1960s, who was also a Devon MP, sold information about his colleagues and Parliament to communist spies.
Czech Security Service files are reported to reveal Raymond Mawby, who died in 1990, was in its pay for a decade.
Today in Parliament, the current MP for Totnes, Sarah Wollaston, called for a full inquiry.
