Footage has emerged of a dramatic rescue off the Dorset coast in which a six-year-old boy was rescued. The child remains in a serious condition in hospital.
A six-year-old child remains in a serious condition after being rescued in a dramatic operation off the Dorset coast. Portland coastguard said boy 'momentarily stopped breathing' after getting into difficulties in the water at Chesil Cove.
He was airlifted to a hospital in Dorchester and has now been transferred to one in Southampton.

A dramatic rescue unfolded at Chesil Cove at Portland tonight in front of scores of beach-goers after a child got into difficulties in the water. Coastguards say the six-year-old was taken to hospital in Dorchester after being stabalised by paramedics.
Police and coastguards cleared part of the beach to allow the helicopter to land on the sloping beach. There were some hundred people on the beach enjoying the hot sunny evening.
