Harassment warning issued to teen who sent Daley tweet
A 17-year-old boy arrested in Weymouth this morning on suspicion of malicious communications after he tweeted diver Tom Daley has been issued with a harassment warning.
The teenager's been bailed to return to a Dorset police station at a later date while Dorset Police investigate other comments made on his social networking account.

A spokeswoman for Dorset police gave this statement regarding the arrest of a teenager over the Twitter abuse directed at Olympic diver Tom Daley:
– DORSET POLICE SPOKESWOMANA 17-year-old man was arrested by Dorset Police officers in the early hours this morning at a guesthouse in the Weymouth area on suspicion of malicious communications. He is currently helping police with their inquiries.

Duncan Goodhew, the Deputy Mayor of the Olympic Village, told ITVs Daybreak that the the tweet against Tom Daley was 'appaling'.

I suppose that social media in one sense is fantastic, but turned the wrong way round it is very, very personal and it destroys people's lives.
So I think people should be much more careful about what they say."

Police are investigating after a twitter user accused Plymouth diver Tom Daley of letting his late father down. A 17-year-old was arrested in Weymouth this morning in connection with the tweet.
Daley and his partner Pete Waterfield missed out on a medal yesterday when they finished fourth in the men's synchronised 10 metre platform diving event at the Olympics.
