Divers have recovered the body of a man from the wreck of a fishing trawler which sank last week.

The Sarah Jayne went down off Berry Head near Brixham. Two crew members were rescued but the skipper, Geoff Ingram, has been missing since it happened. His family have been informed.

The incident is being investigated by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch.

Coastguard ends search for missing fisherman

Brixham Coastguard has confirmed its search for a trawler which went down off the coast of Brixham has been called off. Searches have continued throughout the day for The 'Sarah Jayne' and her missing skipper, named locally as Geoff Ingram.

The beam trawler capsized yesterday about two and a half miles off Berry Head. Two other crew members were rescued alive. They've been named as Mathew Bull and Scott Chamberlain.

The coastguard told ITV Westcountry the situation is now in the hands of the police and that it is possible police divers will resume the search tomorrow.

Money raised for fisherman disaster fund

Money is continuing to be raised for a disaster fund after a fishing trawler capsized yesterday. The Sarah Jayne capsized off Berry Head in South Devon yesterday morning and the search is still ongoing for a missing fisherman who was on-board.

It is believed a local fisherman donated all his catch to the disaster fund this morning with all buyers paying premium prices for the fish in order to raise more money. Around five to eight thousand pounds is said to have been raised already.

Search for missing fisherman to resume

The search for a missing fisherman whose boat capsized of the coast of South Devon will resume later this morning.

Coastguards called off the search around half past eight last night. Lifeboats from Torbay and Exmouth will begin again at nine o'clock.

Two other crew members were rescued following the incident two and a half miles off Berry Head, off the coast of Brixham.

A major search for a fisherman missing off the Devon coast has been called off for the night. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirmed a decision will be made in the morning whether to resume the search for the missing man.

A major search is under way for a fisherman whose boat capsized off the coast of Devon.

Coastguard officials said two other crew members had been rescued following the incident off Berry Head, near Brixham.

A Mayday broadcast was put out to shipping in the area and several boats, including the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Wave Knight, have joined the search.

A major air and sea rescue is under way for a fisherman missing after a trawler sank off the Devon coast.

The trawler has been identified as the Sarah Jayne, a 49 foot beam trawler. It capsized off Berry Head in South Devon just before 11:30 this morning.
