More than ten thousand people have been running the region's largest half marathon. The Bristol half raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities. As Robert Murphy reports, runners included friends of a competitor who died in last year's race.
More than 14 thousand runners have begun the Bristol half marathon. They set off in two waves at 0930 and 1000.
The numbers are up from last year, with five thousand more people competing. The 13 mile long race is in it 24th year. Thousands have lined the city's street to show their support.
There are warnings that many roads in the city will be closed for much of Sunday.
