The postal union is to ballot Royal Mail staff on strike action at a sorting depot in Bristol. It comes after claims of a mail backlog due to overwork. The Royal Mail blames high levels of sickness.

It's claimed that postal deliveries in parts of Bristol are in chaos and thousands of letters and packages remain undelivered. Unions blame it on impossible workloads. But Royal Mail insists there have only been small delays - and they're down to high sickness levels.
Now strike action is being threatened, in the run up to Christmas.
Union leaders say thousands of letters and parcels are lying undelivered at a sorting office in Bristol.
They say postal workers can't cope with the amount of mail they're being asked to deliver. Royal Mail has drafted in managers from other areas to help deal with the backlog.
