A record 35,000 people turned out for Truro's annual City of Lights parade last night.Organisers say the unusually mild weather attracted an extra 10,000 spectators to the event compared to previous years.

Thousands of people are expected in Truro tonight for the annual City of Lights festival. Paper and withy lanterns - designed around the theme Kings and Queens - will be paraded through the town. School children, students and artists from across the county spend months making them.
