The owner of a 17th century home in Devon, which has been severely damaged by fire, today said he was determined to rebuild it.
Fire crews have spent much of the day at Sydenham House near Okehampton after the fire broke out last night. An investigation into the cause is continuing.

An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire at the 17th century Sydenham House in Devon.
Crews are still at the scene after the fire broke out in a first floor bedroom of the grade one listed building near Okehampton yesterday afternoon.
The roof and top floor were severely damaged and most of the lower floors affected by water damage.

More than 60 firefighters from across Devon and Cornwall were at the scene of a serious fire at Sydenham House near Okehampton in Devon last night. The roof of the 17th century building is in danger of collapse.
Crews used water from a nearby lake to battle the flames. Richard Lawrence was at Sydenham House.

A large fire has broken out at a listed building near Okehampton in Devon.
15 fire engines are at the scene at the historic Sydenham House in Marystow. The whole of the roof is currently on fire and most of the first floor.
